How much does a hair transplant cost in Raleigh?
Raleigh is the one market in the clinic comparison we publish where a practice states real per-graft prices: Koher Medical publishes $5 per graft for FUT and $6 per graft for FUE, with a 1,000-graft minimum — so a 1,500-graft case computes to $7,500–9,000 before anything is added. The other independent practice we reviewed, AZ Hair Restoration, claims “no hidden costs” but publishes no figures. Everywhere else, you are collecting written estimates.
The published rate, turned into dollars
| Case size | FUT at $5/graft | FUE at $6/graft |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 grafts (published minimum) | $5,000 | $6,000 |
| 1,500 grafts — typical hairline-plus | $7,500 | $9,000 |
| 2,000 grafts — frontal third | $10,000 | $12,000 |
| 2,500 grafts — larger session | $12,500 | $15,000 |
Computed from rates published at kohermedical.com, checked August 2026. Worked examples, not quotes — your graft count comes from a physician's evaluation. If the practice changes its rates, tell us and we will update this page.
Why a public rate protects you even if you go elsewhere
A published per-graft rate gives every Raleigh patient a benchmark that exists before any sales conversation. When another clinic quotes you a lump sum, divide it by your written graft count — you now know the implied per-graft rate you are being asked to pay, and you know what one practice in this market charges publicly. The ISHRS warns specifically about flat packages that offer “as many grafts as possible” for one price; a benchmark makes that pattern easy to spot, because a package price with no graft count cannot be divided.
What the second practice publishes instead
AZ Hair Restoration states that the physician personally performs every step of the procedure and claims “no hidden costs”, but publishes no numbers. Those are different kinds of disclosure: one practice shows you the price, the other shows you the process. At a consultation with any Raleigh-area clinic, ask for both — the per-graft rate and estimated total in writing, and who performs each part of the surgery.
Raleigh cost questions
What does a hair transplant cost per graft in Raleigh?
Koher Medical, serving Raleigh from High Point and Wilmington, publishes $5 per graft for FUT and $6 per graft for FUE, with a 1,000-graft minimum. That is the only published per-graft rate in our entire index — most US clinics publish nothing. AZ Hair Restoration in Wake County claims “no hidden costs” but publishes no figures.
So what would a typical Raleigh case cost in dollars?
At the published rates: a 1,200-graft hairline case is $6,000 FUT or $7,200 FUE; a 2,000-graft frontal case is $10,000 FUT or $12,000 FUE. Your own graft count must come from a physician evaluation — these are worked examples of a published rate, not quotes.
Is $5–6 per graft cheap, expensive, or normal?
The only other published figures in our index are case ranges, not rates: one Charlotte practice states $8,000–18,000 for FUE, another states a $4,000 starting price. A per-graft rate cannot be compared to a case range until you know the graft count. What makes the Raleigh rate valuable is simply that it is public — you can check any quote against it before you ever book a consultation.
